Vancouver, BC, November 12, 2022
It’s that time again: Today the ever-popular Vancouver Christmas Market opens its doors.
Christkindlmarkets are a centuries-old tradition in Germany and a yearly opportunity for people to come together, enjoy each other’s company, delicious food and drinks, and shop for Christmas gifts. It was only a matter of time that this loving tradition spread across the world including Canada.
Now in its 12th year, Downtown Vancouver is all about mulled wine, savory and sweet foods like the famous Dresden Stollen, traditional German crafts and attractions until Christmas. From November 12 through December 24, Jack Pool Plaza will once again be transformed into a winter wonderland with music and wooden booths topped by our largest Herrnhut Stars. That gives you six whole weeks to stroll, taste and enjoy. More than 80 artisan huts offer handcrafted items that make perfect Christmas gifts.
The Vancouver Christmas Market with its authentic German flair has become an indispensable part of Vancouver. This event is also an annual highlight for MyBrilliantStar – not only because of the great scenery right by the water and the lit skyscapers creating a beautiful atmosphere when night falls over Vancouver. At our booth we meet our visitors from Canada and all over the world and share the exciting story of the Herrnhut Star with them. In addition to the traditional stars, we will also present you this year’s special edition – a small, silver glittering star that will perfectly match your existing Christmas decorations.
With our experienced team we tell you about the Moravian Stars and other German Christmas traditions and products, such as HUSS Incense cones and burners. In 2022 we have expanded our offer with great handmade Christmas tree decorations from Marolin and Kuhnert, two traditional German companies.
Another highlight besides shopping is the so called “Gourmetstrasse”, a dedicated street selling traditional German dishes such as “Haxe” or “Bratwurst”, and drinks like mulled wine and beers. With live music and attractions such as a carousel, entertainment is also provided for.
We hope you enjoy this year’s Christmas Market! Don’t forget to stop by our Herrnhut booth and say hello!
